Reasons to Recycle

Americans are only five percent of the world's population yet we produce 40 percent of the waste. We use enough plastic wrap to wrap all of Texas every year.

Recycling one aluminum can saves enough energy to run your television set for an hour, recycling one ton of aluminum cans saves enough energy to run an average home for 10 years.

Recycling one ton of paper saves 17 trees, 7,000 gallons of water and 3.3 cubic yards of landfill space.  It also saves 4,100 kilowatts of energyâ€"enough to heat your home for six months.

Recent Power Outages

The City has been experiencing frequent power outages and is currently working with Oncor Electric Delivery for resolution.  We apologize for the interruptions and will provide updates as they become available.
