The city administrator is appointed by the City Council and is vested with administrative authority to operate the city according to the policies set by the City Council. The City Administrator is the chief operating officer of the city, and has daily oversight of city operations.
City Administrator James Quin, ICMA-CM
City Administrator James Quin began his tenure with Haslet in August, 2013.
Mr. Quin has 30+ years of service in municipal government and holds a Bachelor of Science Education and a Master of Public Administration degrees, both from Missouri State University. He is a member of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) which is the leading association of local government professionals dedicated to creating and supporting thriving communities throughout the world. Through ICMA, Mr. Quin earned and maintains the Credentialed Manager (CM) designation which recognizes professional local government managers qualified by a combination of education and experience, adherence to high standards of integrity (follow link to the ICMA Code of Ethics here), and an assessed commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.
Mr. Quin's former experience was as City Manager of Richland Hills, Texas, where he served as city manager for more than 16 years.
Mr. Quin believes the Mayor and City Council have a clear vision for the future of Haslet, and uses his knowledge and experience to assist the City Council to achieve great things for Haslet.
