Haslet Fourth of July Festivities

Community Wide Event! - See the attached flyer for information about the Haslet Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks!
The Haslet Parks & Recreation Board is sponsoring the 9th annual Haslet 4th of July Parade, Saturday, July 3rd at 6:30 p.m. Bring your decorated bike, wagon, go-cart, horse or float to join in the parade. Line up starts at 6:00 in the Mr. Jim’s Pizza parking lot for non-motorized entrants and at Haslet Community Park for motorized entrants. You can arrive early & decorate with provided decorations. Win a prize for the best parade entry! Advance registration ends 6-26-10 but registration is available at the event. Advance registrants will be entered into a separate prize drawing. Spectators welcome along the parade route. The parade will progress through Old Town and then head down Schoolhouse Road, ending at Haslet Elementary. Festivities, including food and drinks, await at the elementary school following the parade.
Stick around for the grand finale~our second annual fireworks show will begin at 9:15.

Haslet Economic Development Strategic Plan 'Task Force' Meeting

Economic Development Meeting - As part of the Economic Development Plan for the City of Haslet, a Strategic Plan 'Task Force' was created and meets regularly to monitor the progress of the high priority goals of the plan. This 'Task Force' is made up of two members of City Council (Williams and Richey), two members of Type A Economic Development Corporation (EDC) Board of Directors (Mr. Boecking and Ms. Arcement), and two members of Type B EDC Board of Directors (Mr. Lyon and Mr. Garner). This is the third meeting for the Task Force.
This meeting of the Task Force will be held immediately after an organizational/informational meeting of the Haslet Downtown property owners meeting. The earlier meeting is a casual meeting, which 30 (all) of the property owners in the Old Town area (the four block area) were invited to attend via letter from the Task Force. The purpose of the Downtown Property owners committee is to foster greater communication on infrastructure improvements, prospective new developments and redevelopments in the Old Town area. Task Force members will facilitate the establishment of the Old Town Property Owners Committee and will seek the Committee’s input as we all work together to develop Haslet. There may, or may not be, therefore, a quorum of the Task Force, or other boards at the earlier property owners meeting.
