CITY OF HASLET, TEXAS
NOTICE OF ANNEXATION PUBLIC HEARINGS
Haslet City Council will hold two public hearings, the first being on Monday, May 17, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. and the second being held on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at 7:00 p.m., both at the Haslet Community Center, 105 Main Street, Haslet, Texas, to consider annexation of the following two areas:
AREA “A” (FM 156)
Being approximately 9.4 acres of land situated in the Coleman Boyd Survey, Abstract No. 225, Tarrant County, Texas and being a part of the existing right-of-way of FM 156 S, south of Avondale-Haslet Road, also known as MAPSCO grid 6T in Fort Worth edition, commonly known as block 400-900 of FM 156 S, Haslet, TX 76052.
AREA ‘B’ (LETARA):
Being a 12.563 acre tract of land situated in the Coleman Boyd Survey, Abstract No. 225, Tarrant County, Texas and being all that certain tract of land described in deed to Triple T Farms, Ltd. as recorded in County Clerk’s File No. D205179540, Deed Records, Tarrant County, Texas and being located in the southwest corner of State Hwy No. 156 and Avondale-Haslet Road, including street address 73 Avondale-Haslet Road, Haslet, TX 76052.
Persons interested in the annexations of the above areas into the City of Haslet will be given the opportunity to be heard at the public hearings. Maps of the areas proposed to be annexed are available at the Haslet City Hall, 101 Main Street, Haslet, Texas, during regular business hours.

Haslet Economic Development Strategic Plan

On Monday, March 15, 2010, Haslet City Council adopted the Haslet Economic Development Strategic Plan as designed by Marty Wieder of Strategic Consulting. This included the plan itself, a Mission Statement and a Vision Statement. This plan was the result of months of workshop meetings and research by the Haslet Type A and Haslet Type B Economic Development Corporation Boards of Directors, respectively, working with City Council to set priorities.

2009 City of Haslet Property Tax Rates

| This notice concerns 2009 property tax rates for the City of Haslet, Texas. It presents information about three tax rates. Last year’s tax rate is the actual rate the taxing unit used to determine property taxes last year. This year’s effective tax rate would impose the same total taxes as last year if you compare properties taxed in both years. This year’s rollback tax rate is the highest tax rate the taxing unit can set before taxpayers can start tax rollback procedures. In each case these rates are found by dividing the total amount of taxes by the tax base (the total value of taxable property) with adjustments as required by state law. The rates are given per $100 of property value. |

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ON 2008-2009 BUDGET
The City of Haslet will hold a Public Hearing on the budget for the October 1, 2008 through September 30, 2009 fiscal year on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at Haslet Community Center, 105 Main Street, Haslet, Texas 76052. This budget will raise more total property taxes than last year’s budget by $47,077, a three percent (3%) increase, and of that amount, $40,687 is tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year. Ordinance No. 0201-07 - LR Change

An Ordinance amending the Haslet Code of Ordinances, Chapter 14, Zoning, Exhibit “A”, the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance, by amending Section 11 [260.1] C-156-F.M. 156 Corridor Overlay District Subsection (B) 1. Residential Gateway and 2. Local Retail Transition; providing that this Ordinance shall be cumulative of all ordinances; providing a severability clause; providing for a penalty for violations hereof; providing a savings clause; providing for publication; and providing an effective date.
Any person found guilty of violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be fined not more than $2,000.00 for each and every violation and each day that a violation is permitted to exist shall constitute a separate offense.
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as required by law, and it is so ordained. Passed and approved the 6th day of February 2007.
