THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT FOR THE CITY OF HASLET, TEXAS WILL CONVENE IN SESSION AT 6:30 P.M. ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 25, 2007 IN THE HASLET COMMUNITY CENTER LOCATED AT 105 MAIN STREET, HASLET, TEXAS.

Agenda

1.          Call to order and announce a quorum is present.

2.             Consider and act on the February 21, 2007 minutes.

3.          Mr. Fred Joyce, Developer of The Meadow subdivision, is requesting variances from the provisions of the zoning ordinance, which he is entitled to per Haslet Code of Ordinances, Chapter 14 – Zoning, Section 14.05.007 – Procedures, claiming that the literal enforcement of the terms of the zoning ordinance will create an unnecessary hardship or practical difficulty in the development of the affected property, which is an allowed request per City of Haslet Code of Ordinances, Chapter 14:   Zoning, 14.05.006 – Powers and duties.  

Mr. Joyce is requesting variances to reduce the side yard setbacks from the required fifteen foot (15’) setback to a ten foot (10’) setback on the following described seven lots:   (Block 1 – Lot 4, Lot 11 and Lot 12, Block 3 – Lot 2, Lot 3 and Lot 4 and Block 4 – Lot 1) located in The Meadow Subdivision Phase I.  

A.             Public Hearing.

B.             Consider and act on variance requests to reduce side yard setbacks to 10 foot (10”) on Block 1 – Lot 4, Lot 11 and Lot 12, Block 3 – Lot 2, Lot 3 and Lot 4 and Block 4 – Lot 1, located in The Meadow Subdivision Phase I.  

All items may be acted upon by one motion or an item may be removed, discussed, and acted on separately.

4.             Executive Session:   The Board of Adjustment may enter into Executive Session during the meeting to seek legal advice from its attorney on any posted agenda item, (Section 551.071, Government Code, – Consultation with Attorney; A governmental body may not conduct a private consultation with its attorney except:   (1) when the governmental body seeks the advice of its attorney about: (A) pending or contemplated litigation; or   (B) a settlement offer; or (2) on a matter in which the duty of the attorney to the governmental body under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with this chapter.) or to discuss any item that is authorized by the Texas Open Meetings Act to be discussed in closed session.

5.             Consider and act on executive session item(s).

6.             Adjourn.
