THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF HASLET, TEXAS WILL CONVENE IN REGULAR SESSION AT 7:00 P.M. ON MONDAY, JULY 7, 2008 IN THE HASLET COMMUNITY CENTER LOCATED AT 105 MAIN STREET.

 

AGENDA

 

1.          Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is present.

 

2.          Invocation followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

3.          Citizen Participation and Comments:   (Please fill out a “Citizen Comment” form to address the Council and turn into the City Secretary prior to the beginning of the meeting.   Speakers are normally allowed three minutes – the Council may adjust time limits.)

 

4.          Consider and act on the June 16, 2008 minutes.  

 

5.          Consider and act on approval of the Capital Improvement Advisory Committee’s semi-annual report and recommendations for the Water and Sewer Impact Fees collected over the previous six month period.  

 

6.          Consider and act on Consumer Price Index-CPI rate increase request from Allied Waste Services.

 

7.          Consider and act on the contract of sale with Antonio Garcia and M. Ernestina Bautista for purchase of property at 203 and 204 First Street South.

 

8.          Consider and act on awarding a contract for the Intermodal Parkway Transition Reconstruction Project.

 

9.          Consider and act on contract agreement with Tarrant County Tax Office to collect taxes for the City of Haslet.

 

10.         Consider and act on appointment of City Administrator.

 

11.         WORSHOP-On the City of Haslet Citizen of the Year award program.

            A.         Workshop.

            B.          Consider and act on “City of Haslet Citizen of the Year” award program.

 

12.         Executive Session:   The City Council may enter into Executive Session during the meeting to seek legal advice from its attorney on any posted agenda item, or to discuss any item that is authorized by the Texas Open Meetings Act to be discussed in closed session, including:

            A.         Section 551.072, Government Code, deliberation regarding real property.

B.          Section 551.071, Government Code, – Consultation with Attorney; A governmental body may not conduct a private consultation with its attorney except:   (1) when the governmental body seeks the advice of its attorney about: (A) pending or contemplated litigation; or    (B) a settlement offer; or (2) on a matter in which the duty of the attorney to the governmental body under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with this chapter.

            C.         Section 551.087, Government Code, deliberation regarding economic development negotiations.

            D.         Section 551.074, Government Code, to deliberate regarding the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee.

                        1) City Administrator.

 

            E.         Section 551.073, Government Code, to deliberate about gifts or donations to the City.

           

13.         Consider and act on executive session items.

 

14.         Consider and act on items to be placed on the next agenda.

 

15.         Adjourn.
