THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF HASLET, TEXAS WILL CONVENE IN REGULAR SESSION AT 7:00 P.M. ON MONDAY, JUNE 2, 2008 IN THE HASLET COMMUNITY CENTER LOCATED AT 105 MAIN STREET.

AGENDA

1.          Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is present.

2.          Invocation followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

3.          Citizen Participation and Comments:   (Please fill out a “Citizen Comment” form to address the Council and turn into the City Secretary prior to the beginning of the meeting.   Speakers are normally allowed three minutes – the Council may adjust time limits.)

4.          Consider and act on the May 19, 2008 minutes.

5.          Consider and act on electing a Mayor Pro Tem for the 2008-2009 term.

6.          Application from Chief Oil & Gas LLC for a Specific Use Permit to allow a gas well, Alliance Haslet unit #2H, on the following property: being a 2.848 acre tract of land more or less out of a larger tract of land situated in the M.E.P. & P. RR. Co. Survey, Abstract Number 1132, Tarrant County, Texas and being a portion of that certain tract of land described by deed to the AIL Investment, L.P., recorded Volume 13697, Page 496, Deed Records, Tarrant County, Texas and being more commonly referred to just west of Old Town Haslet, Texas just east of the BNSF railroad tracks.   

            A.         Public Hearing.

            B.          Consider and act on Specific Use Permit #S0601-08, Alliance Haslet #2H.

7.          Application from Chief Oil & Gas LLC for a Specific Use Permit to allow a gas well, Alliance Haslet unit #3H, on the following property: being a 2.848 acre tract of land more or less out of a larger tract of land situated in the M.E.P. & P. RR. Co. Survey, Abstract Number 1132, Tarrant County, Texas and being a portion of that certain tract of land described by deed to the AIL Investment, L.P., recorded Volume 13697, Page 496, Deed Records, Tarrant County, Texas and being more commonly referred to just west of Old Town Haslet, Texas just east of the BNSF railroad tracks.

            B.          Consider and act on Specific Use Permit #S0602-08, Alliance Haslet #3H.

8.          Ordinance No. 0601-08 adopting a curfew for minors and establishing an offense for minors, parents, and violations of curfew regulations.

            A.         Public Hearing.

            B.          Consider and act on Ordinance No. 0601-08.

9.          Ordinance No. 0602-08 amending the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance by providing definitions and amending district regulations regarding amusement centers.

            A.         Public Hearing.

            B.          Consider and act on Ordinance No. 0602-08.

10.        Ordinance 0603-08 amending the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance by adopting regulations governing the mapping, inventorying, installing, or relocating of common carrier pipelines over, under, along, or across a public street or alley or area within the boundaries of the City and establishing conditions for mapping of common carrier pipelines within the City’s Extraterritorial Jurisdiction and amending Appendix A, the Fee Schedule to reflect these changes.

            A.         Public Hearing.

            B.          Consider and act on Ordinance No. 0603-08.

11.        Ordinance No. 0604-08 amending the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance by restricting the parking of oversized commercial vehicles in the Old Town District.

            A.         Public Hearing.

            B.          Consider and act on Ordinance No. 0604-08.

12.        Consider and act on Resolution No. R0601-08 regarding the City of Haslet participation in Tarrant County’s Community Development Block Grant Program for the three-year period, fiscal year 2009 through fiscal year 2011.

13.        Consider and act on awarding the contract for the Intermodal Parkway Transition Reconstruction.  

14.        Review of the Nance Field Youth Agreement between the City of Haslet and the Haslet Sports Association.

15.        Review expenditures on City Hall and Library.

16.         Executive Session:   The City Council may enter into Executive Session during the meeting to seek legal advice from its attorney on any posted agenda item, or to discuss any item that is authorized by the Texas Open Meetings Act to be discussed in closed session, including:

            A.         Section 551.072, Government Code, deliberation regarding real property.

B.          Section 551.071, Government Code, – Consultation with Attorney; A governmental body may not conduct a private consultation with its attorney except:   (1) when the governmental body seeks the advice of its attorney about: (A) pending or contemplated litigation; or    (B) a settlement offer; or (2) on a matter in which the duty of the attorney to the governmental body under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with this chapter.

            C.         Section 551.087, Government Code, deliberation regarding economic development negotiations.

            D.         Section 551.074, Government Code, to deliberate regarding the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee.

            E.         Section 551.073, Government Code, to deliberate about gifts or donations to the City.

17.         Consider and act on executive session items.

18.         Consider and act on items to be placed on the next agenda.

19.         Adjourn.
