THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF HASLET, TEXAS WILL CONVENE IN A SPECIAL CALLED SESSION AT 7:00 P.M. ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 2, 2008 IN THE COMMUNITY CENTER AT 105 MAIN STREET, HASLET, TEXAS.

AGENDA

1.              Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present.

2.              Consider and act on the hiring of   the Haslet Municipal Court Clerk.

3.              Consider and act on the contract of sale with Antonio Garcia and M. Ernestina Bautista for purchase of property at 203 and 204 First Street South.

4.              Consider and act on Roadway Projects.

5.              Executive Session:   The City Council may enter into Executive Session during the meeting to seek legal advice from its attorney on any posted agenda item, or to discuss any item that is authorized by the Texas Open Meetings Act to be discussed in closed session, including:

                A.             Section 551.072, Government Code, deliberation regarding real property.

B.             Section 551.071, Government Code, – Consultation with Attorney; A governmental body may not conduct a private consultation with its attorney except:   (1) when the governmental body seeks the advice of its attorney about: (A) pending or contemplated litigation; or    (B) a settlement offer; or (2) on a matter in which the duty of the attorney to the governmental body under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with this chapter.

                C.             Section 551.087, Government Code, deliberation regarding economic development negotiations.

                D.            Section 551.074, Government Code, to deliberate regarding the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee.

·           Municipal Court Clerk.

                E.             Section 551.073, Government Code, to deliberate about gifts or donations to the City.

6.              Consider and act on executive session items.

7.              Adjourn.
