THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF HASLET, TEXAS WILL CONVENE IN REGULAR SESSION AT 7:00 P.M. ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 2007 IN THE HASLET COMMUNITY CENTER LOCATED AT 105 MAIN STREET.

Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present.

Citizen Participation and Comments:
Please fill out a “Citizen Comment” form to address the Council and turn it into the City Secretary prior to the beginning of the meeting.
Speakers are normally allowed three minutes (time limits may be adjusted by the Council).

Consider and act on the January 15, 2007 minutes.
5.
Consider and act renewing and extending the Allied Waste Services Contract for refuse and recycling collection for two (2) successive terms of (2) years each (through March 30, 2011) and approving the requested changes to the contract.
6.
Consider and act on Ordinance No. 0202-07, a zoning change request from 120 Land Corporation to change the current zoning classification of (AG) Agricultural District to the zoning classification of (LR) Local Retail District with the Corridor Overlay District for an approximate 4.514-acre tract of land situated in the M.E.P. & P.RR. Co. Survey No. 11, Abstract 1132, City of Haslet, Tarrant County, Texas, being those certain tracts of land conveyed to Lewis E. Nance and Allegra B. Nance by deeds recorded in Volume 8997, Page 627, Volume 9612, Page 1093, described as Tract One, Deed Records, Tarrant County, Texas.
The site is more commonly referred to as the piece of property on the northeast corner of Avondale Haslet Road and F.M. 156 extending to the railroad tracks.

Consider and act on Ordinance No. 0201-07 amending the Haslet Code of Ordinances, Chapter 14, Exhibit A:
the Zoning Ordinance, Section 11 [260.1] C-156-F.M. 156 Corridor Overlay District (B) 2.
Local Retail Transition by adding to the boundaries of the transition area.

Consider and act on awarding the construction bid for the Haslet Community Park.

Consider and act on approving City of Fort Worth’s request for open cutting of Westport Parkway and Keller-Haslet Road North.

Consider and act on selection of the 33rd Year Community Development Block Grant Project.
11.
Executive Session:
The City Council may enter into Executive Session during the meeting to seek legal advice from its attorney on any posted agenda item, or to discuss any item that is authorized by the Texas Open Meetings Act to be discussed in closed session, including:
A.
Section 551.072, Government Code, deliberation regarding real property.
B.
Section 551.071, Government Code, – Consultation with Attorney; A governmental body may not conduct a private consultation with its attorney except:
(1) when the governmental body seeks the advice of its attorney about: (A) pending or contemplated litigation; or
(B) a settlement offer; or (2) on a matter in which the duty of the attorney to the governmental body under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with this chapter.

Section 551.087, Government Code, deliberation regarding economic development negotiations.

Section 551.074, Government Code, to deliberate regarding the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee.

Consider and act on executive session items.

Consider and act on items to be placed on the next agenda.
