THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF HASLET, TEXAS WILL CONVENE IN REGULAR SESSION AT 7:00 P.M. ON MONDAY, JANUARY 21, 2008 IN THE HASLET COMMUNITY CENTER LOCATED AT 105 MAIN STREET.

AGENDA

1.          Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present.

2.          Invocation followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

3.          Citizen Participation and Comments:   (Please fill out a “Citizen Comment” form to address the Council and turn it into the City Secretary prior to the beginning of the meeting.   Speakers are normally allowed three minutes - the Council may adjust time limits).

4.          Consent Agenda:  (All items listed under the Consent Agenda are considered routine and       may be enacted by one motion.   If discussion is desired, the item may be removed, discussed, and acted on separately).

            A.         January 7, 2008 minutes.

            B.          Reports:

5.          Consider and act on December Budget Reports.

8.          Consider and act on the Capital Improvement Advisory Committee’s recommendations concerning the revenue collected on water and sewer impact fees from the previous six months.

9.          Consider and act on Haslet Volunteer Fire Department request:

A.         Sell of existing brush truck.

B.          Receiving grant for new brush truck.

C.          Additional funds needed for new brush truck.

10.         Discussion on the request from Hillwood Properties for the City of Haslet to consider releasing a portion of its Extra Territorial Jurisdiction (ETJ) to the City of Fort Worth for an exchange in boundary and action on allowing the City of Fort Worth standards and approval on a proposed building in the above mentioned ETJ area.  

11.         Consider and act on Ordinance No. 0102-08 amending the Haslet Code of Ordinances, Article 12.05 – Stop Intersections, Section 12.05-1, adding First Street at its intersection with Gammill Road, First Street at its intersection at Main Street.

12.         Consider and act on the following bids for the renovation of 101 Main Street for City Hall:

            A.         Floor.

            B.          Roof.

            C.          Windows.

13.         Executive Session:   The City Council may enter into Executive Session during the meeting to seek legal advice from its attorney on any posted agenda item, or to discuss any item that is authorized by the Texas Open Meetings Act to be discussed in closed session, including:

            A.         Section 551.072, Government Code, deliberation regarding real property.

B.          Section 551.071, Government Code, – Consultation with Attorney; A governmental body may not conduct a private consultation with its attorney except:   (1) when the governmental body seeks the advice of its attorney about: (A) pending or contemplated litigation; or    (B) a settlement offer; or (2) on a matter in which the duty of the attorney to the governmental body under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with this chapter.

            C.         Section 551.087, Government Code, deliberation regarding economic development negotiations.

            D.         Section 551.074, Government Code, to deliberate regarding the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee.

            E.         Section 551.073, Government Code, to deliberate about gifts or donations to the City.

14.         Consider and act on executive session items.

15.         Consider and act on items to be placed on the next agenda.

16.         Adjourn.
