Building Inspections Department

The Building Inspection Department is responsible for the inspection of all construction in the City of Haslet to ensure compliance with ordinances, building codes and applicable specifications.  Building Inspections is responsible for code enforcement, plan review, permit issuance and to verify code compliance throughout the construction process. Permits are required before performing any new construction or any addition, alteration or repair of existing buildings, structures, plumbing, electrical or mechanical work. Please contact the Building Inspection Department for more information on specific requirements.

Municipal Court
Municipal Court is held the second Tuesday of the month at 6:00 P.M. as needed.
The law requires you to appear in court on your case. If you were issued a citation, your appearance date is noted on the citation. If you have been released on bond, your appearance date is set on the bond. If you request a continuance, the court will notify you of your new appearance date. You or your attorney may appear in person in open court, by mail, or you may deliver your plea in person to the court.


Public Works
The Haslet Public Works Department maintains the City's infrastructure: streets, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, street medians, street trees, street and traffic signs, pavement markings, street lights and traffic signals, street sweeping, landscape maintenance, the water supply, water main lines, water services, water meters and meter readings for water billing, water conservation, refuse collection and recycling, environmental issues, the sewer system, engineering for everything in the public right-of-way, capital improvement projects. In addition, public works is responsible for other services: mechanical maintenance for all City-owned vehicles, small equipment and large construction equipment, and the maintenance of all City-owned buildings.


Fire Department
The Haslet Fire Department Is A Regional Emergency Services Agency Providing Fire And Medical Emergency Response As Well As Other Dispatched Calls To The Citizens Of Haslet And The Immediate Unincorporated Areas Of North Tarrant County In A Defined 911 Area. Additionally, HFD Provides Mutual Aid Support On A Regional, Multi-County And State-Wide Basis. HFD Also Provides Community Support, Education And Prevention Services To The Community It Serves Either In A Direct Capacity Or Through Mutual Aid.


Animal Control
Animal Control Ordinance Information - Confinement Law: Haslet has a strict confinement law for dogs and cats…please do not allow your pets to roam. Pets at large are subject to being impounded by an Animal Control Officer and fees accessed to an owner. The Officer uses written notice cards and WARNING cards on first time violations. A second or third violation could result in a citation being issued where fines begin at $500.

Please be responsible with your animals. A current rabies tag or ID tag on your pet’s collar will assure you getting your lost pet back.


Parks & Recreation Department
The Parks Board serves in an advisory capacity to recommend improvements of the park and recreation areas. The Board is charged to stimulate public interest in the development and maintenance of parks and playgrounds and to promote close cooperation between the City and private citizens so that all park and recreational facilities are used to their maximum benefit. This Board contains seven members and two alternate members with appointments made by approval of the Council as a whole. The Haslet Parks and Recreation Board meets the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm at the Community Center.


Harold Williams

HAROLD WILLIAMS and his wife Celeste have been residents of Haslet since 2002.   He previously served on the Haslet 4A Economic Development Corporation.   He is presently serving his second term on the City Council.   He holds an Associates Degree in Heating and air conditioning.   He has been self-employed for the last 15 years.  


Brian Ebersold
BRIAN EBERSOLD and his family have been residents of Haslet for more than 20 years. Brian came to the City Council with experience having served on the City of Haslet’s Planning & Zoning Commission and the Capital Improvements Advisory Board.  He also had been active in Haslet Youth sports, having coached both basketball and soccer when his children were younger. Brian earned his Bachelors Degree at the University of Arizona and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Texas Christian University. He worked for American Airlines and Arthur Andersen before deciding to start his own real estate consulting business. Brian and his wife, Sharon, chose Haslet because they saw a great place to raise their two daughters and still have enough room for their horses. Brian, who logged over 200 miles swimming last year, is also active in masters swimming, karate and windsurfing.


Lynnda McCoy
LYNNDA MCCOY is presently serving her fourth term on the City Council. She previously served on the 4A Economic Development Board, the Variance Adjustment Board and she co-founded the city newsletter. In addition to her city activities, she was active in both middle school PTA and Northwest Band Boosters. Lynnda has a B.S. in Education from Texas Tech University and is employed by Alcon Research Limited as a Senior Trainer in Research and Development. She and her husband, John have been residents of Haslet for over 20 years. They have one daughter, Leah, who is an attorney with the Department of Justice Anti-Trust Division in Washington, D.C.


Pat Richey
PAT RICHEY and his wife Diane have been residents of Haslet since 1996. Pat served four years on the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Capital Improvements Advisory Board. He was appointed by the Mayor and City Council to serve on the 2004 Master Park Plan Steering Committee. Pat earned an Associates Degree in Information Systems and is currently employed by CEC Entertainment.  Pat and Diane have two children, Sarah, who graduated from Texas Tech, and Brian, who is attending Columbia University in New York.


Elaine Simpson - City Secretary

Elaine Simpson was appointed City Secretary in October of 2008.   She is a native of Odessa, Texas.   She has been a City Secretary previously for the City of Seagoville, Texas (2006-2008) and for the City of Seymour, Texas (2000-2006).   She was Assistant City Secretary for the City of Lancaster from 1999-2000.   Simpson holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of North Texas in Denton.   She holds a Bachelors degree from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin (Odessa) where she majored in Political Science and minored in History.   She is a Texas Registered Municipal Clerk (TRMC) and a Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC), designations earned through the Texas Municipal Clerks Certification Program and the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, respectively.  Simpson is happy to hear from citizens and her e-mail is esimpson@haslet.org.

Jeanine Inman - Assistant City Secretary

Jeanine has been with the City of Haslet since August of 1999. Prior to working for Haslet, Jeanine worked as a Nursing Assistant and was an Electronics Intelligence Operations Specialist in the United States Air Force. From 1994 to 2005, Jeanine was the Secretary and an EMT/Firefighter for the Haslet Volunteer Fire Department. She is still involved with the Haslet Volunteer Fire Department Support Group. She received her Texas Municipal Clerks Certification in January of 2005, and is the primary support to the City Secretary and serves as the Planning and Zoning Administrator.
