THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION FOR THE CITY OF HASLET , TEXAS WILL CONVENE IN REGULAR SESSION AT 6:30 P.M. ON MARCH 26, 2007 IN THE HASLET COMMUNITY CENTER LOCATED AT 105 MAIN STREET .

AGENDA

1.          Call to order and announce a quorum is present.

2.          Citizen Participation and Comments.   Please fill out a “Citizen Comment” form in order to address the Planning & Zoning Commission, and turn the form in prior to the Citizens Comments to the Planning & Zoning Secretary.   Speakers are normally limited to three minutes (time limits can be adjusted by the Planning & Zoning Commission).    

3.          Consider and act on approval of the February 26, 2007 minutes.  

4.          Consider and act on the recommendation to the City Council on the zoning change from the current zoning classification of (R-2) Suburban District to ( PO ) Professional Office District with a (C-156) Corridor Overlay District – Professional Office Transition.   The legal description of property being Brentwood Park, Lots 21-D, 21-E, 21-F, 21-G, 21-H, and 21-J in the City of Haslet, Texas and more commonly described as the property in the 1700 Block of F.M. 156 just north of the Haslet Volunteer Fire Department.

A.                  Public hearing.

B.                  Consider and act on the recommendation to the City Council.

5.          Consider and act on the recommendation to the City Council on the change to the City of Haslet Thoroughfare Plan .

C.                  Public hearing.

D.                  Consider and act on the recommendation to the City Council.

6.          Workshops.

A.       Wind Turbine/Wind Power.

B.      Planned development considerations for a shipping container storage yard.

7.          Executive Session:   The Planning and Zoning Commission may enter into Executive Session during the meeting to seek legal advice from its attorney on any posted agenda item, or to discuss any item that is authorized by the Texas Open Meetings Act to be discussed in closed session, including:

A.         Section 551.071, Government Code, – Consultation with Attorney; A governmental body may not conduct a private consultation with its attorney except:   (1) when the governmental body seeks the advice of its attorney about: (A) pending or contemplated litigation; or    (B) a settlement offer; or (2) on a matter in which the duty of the attorney to the governmental body under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with this Chapter.

8.          Consider and act on executive session items.

9.          Items to be placed on the next agenda.

10.        Adjourn.
