You may open an account with us by:
- Coming to the library during regular business hours, or
- Applying online.
Who Can Open An Account?
Adults 18 and up with a valid Texas driver’s license may get a Haslet Public Library card free of charge. Children 5-17 may get library cards if a parent/guardian agrees to take responsibility for the account. You do not need to be a resident of Haslet.
What is needed to open the account?
A valid Texas Drivers' License needs to be presented, or you may email a copy if you apply online. If your license does not have your current address, you will need to present one other proof of residency with your name and current address such as a utility bill, auto insurance card, or lease agreement. We will ask for your telephone number and email address. WE DO NOT SHARE THIS INFORMATION EVER. Our catalog system sends notices of pending due dates and notices of overdue items so long as we have your email address. Also, we will send you our weekly newsletter via email.
Accounts are renewed every three years so long as you actively use our services. If your card is lost, there will be a charge of $1.00 to replace it.
