Get a Haslet Library Card

There are 2 ways to open an account:

  1. Come in to the library during regular business hours, or
  2. Apply online. NOTE: Incomplete applications will not be processed. You will be assigned a temporary account number which cannot be used online (e.g., Libby or research databases). You will have to visit the library in person to get your card and permanent account number.

Who Can Open An Account?

Texas residents age 18+ who provide a photo ID and proof of current Texas address may obtain a Haslet Public Library card, provided they do not reside in any of the other cities in our consortium (Benbrook, Burleson, Decatur, Forest Hill, Keller, Haltom City, Richland Hills, Roanoke, Saginaw, or Watauga). Children 5 years or older are eligible for a card. A person under the age of 18 must have parent/guardian permission to obtain a Library card. That parent/guardian must also have a library card account. Children must be present for an adult to sign them up for a Library card.

What is needed to open the account?

A valid Texas Drivers' License needs to be presented. If your license does not have your current address, you will need to present one other proof of residency with your name and current address such as a utility bill, auto insurance card, or lease agreement. We will ask for your telephone number and email address. WE DO NOT SHARE THIS INFORMATION. Our catalog system sends pending due date and overdue item notices to your email. We will also send you our monthly newsletter via email.

Accounts are renewed every three years so long as you actively use our services. If your card is lost, there will be a charge of $1.00 to replace it.
